Girls on the Run Volunteer OpportunitiesVolunteers are vital to Girls on the Run in Hillsborough County! We depend on volunteers to coach the program, serve as Running Buddies and provide other invaluable support. CoachesGirls on the Run coaches are female volunteers who facilitate the 12-week program at program sites throughout the county. Coaches do not have to be runners; you only need to have the desire to serve as a role model for girls and a passion for the Girls on the Run mission. Coaches can be affiliated with a particular site or we can match you to a coach team and program site. Once matched with a site, coaches are trained in the curriculum, facilitation, and group dynamics through an intensive one-day training with The Ophelia Project and Boys Initiative. Each Running Buddy is paired with one girl to provide her one-on-one encouragement. Read more about the Running Buddy commitment here. Other Ways to Get InvolvedWant to get involved with Girls on the Run in another way? We always welcome your support and have lots of one-time opportunities. Volunteer internships are also available.
